Mixed feelings, we expect: of pride at the endeavour, this unlikely mission’s achievement, tinged with fear at the climate mountain humanity still has to climb – especially here, at the gateway to so many already fleeing climate-driven catastrophes. “Hope”, says Rebecca Solnit, “is not a lottery ticket you can sit on the sofa and clutch, feeling lucky.
