Prague to Vienna: 18 – 28 March
It’s a 7-day-long southeasterly amble through the Czech countryside, threading through a string of pretty-as-pie hamlets like Útěchovice pod Stražištěm and Doupě, Radkovice u Budce and Onšov before we stumble blinking into the bright lights of the market town of Satov. Next up, it’s five days in Austria where the first stop is Oberstinkenbrunn, then Niederhollabrunn, before we pull up in chocolate-box handsome Vienna, the EU’s sixth largest city and the largest city on the River Danube. Vienna is no climate slouch: its mayor is within the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, the city has a plan to be climate neutral by 2040 and is slashing its emissions. What role does the city see for removals? We plan to find out.
